Internal Door Fitting and Repairs

Internal doors that stick, drop, rattle or simply need replacing are one of the most common jobs I carry out across Queensbury, Halifax, Brighouse, Bradford and the wider Calderdale area. From hanging a new door to fitting handles and latches, it is a straightforward way to freshen up a room.

How assessment and quotations work

Send the details and I will confirm what is involved. Most single-door jobs can be quoted from photos; for several doors or unusual sizes I may visit to measure first. You will receive a written quotation before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Can you cut a door down to fit a new carpet?

Yes. Trimming the bottom of a door for new flooring is a common job. Hollow doors have a limited amount that can be removed, so I will check the door type before cutting.

My door will not latch properly — can you fix it?

Usually yes. It is often a dropped door, a misaligned strike plate or a worn latch. I will diagnose the cause and put it right rather than just forcing the door shut.

Do you fit fire doors?

I fit standard internal doors. Fire-rated doors that require certification and intumescent seals should be fitted and certified by an installer able to sign off the fire rating, and I can refer you to a specialist where needed.
